Swatching Watercolors on Different Papers
a study in paper texture and granulation
I would say that one of my favorite aspects of watercolor painting is the unpredictability. The outcome is always contingent on water control, type of paper, time, and watercolor paints.
Here are the different papers I tried.

Here is how I set up my test.
I used a couple of granulating Daniel Smith watercolor paints and one watercolor mix I created using two different colors.

These are a couple of my favorites based on the texture and way the granulation separates.

More swatch samples and paper testing to come!

I love those colours and the texture of granulating watercolour ! I haven’t tried that yet but now I want to 😊
